When I first started teaching in 1997, I was a “late hire” and therefore, there was not a lot of time for training. I remember the feeling of insecurity as I was not sure if what I was doing was the right thing. The purpose of this website is to share my personal view on teaching music in an international setting, mainly the IBMYP and IBDP programme.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to get to know a variety of teaching methods, curricular and have seen how learning has developed. Currently, I am the department leader for Performing Arts at Vienna International School. I also develop resources for the International Diploma Programme Music course. 

 

My hope is that some of my resources, tips, and tricks will help you to enjoy teaching music more fully.
